Blast Off and Onslaught Being a Couple

Me: "I think Blast Off and Onslaught made sense. Blast Off looked up to Onslaught during all of the war, and even before, and idolized him. He really respected him, and saw him as his hero. And because of his idolizing and hero worship, he fell in love with him and wanted his hero to be MORE to him. But, his hero didn't notice because Onslaught is so focused on dealing with the war, with trying to outsmart the other Decepticon officers, trying to gain power, etc. He was focused on work, and Blast Off could just kinda sit there and look up to him. So, when Starscream offered making Onslaught forget about war and trying to gain control, it allowed Onslaught to look, ACTUALLY look at his teammates and see them more than just the guys he's kinda like a father to, making sure they all eat, are safe, and don't die. Starscream allowed Onslaught to RELAX. And with relaxation allows for the more primal instincts of looking for a mate to kick in, so he saw Blast Off's tenderness towards him as more than just his teammate worried for his boss. He saw it as actual attempts of building a stronger, more intimate bond than what they already had.

And after merging into Bruticus, Onslaught did get into Blast Off's processor, see that he's more than just what he thought he was before, and that also allowed their intimacy and respect for each other to grow into something more."

Guy: "I just don't see Blast Off being with Onslaught since Blast Off always viewed himself above others."

Me: "Well, remember that IDW is delving more into these characters. The G1 cartoon and other universes didn't do as much character development because it was all for kids. Kids don't care for that kind of stuff, really. The IDW comics are for adults. And they are really trying to show that regardless of what side it is, there's the good and bad on BOTH sides and in the end they are ALL people who just want love, to be accepted, to live a happy life, and do the thinks they like. All sentient beings who are just like anyone else. So even the "high and mighty" Blast Off falling in love makes sense because he's just any other guy wanting a mate, wanting to be more than just a teammate, wanting to just marry, settle down, get a nice job, and live a normal life. That's really the entire point of the war. Bring equality to all so everyone can live a happy life with the job they want, be with the person they love, and just all be happy.

And it makes sense they are all "bisexual" since sex doesn't technically exist. There's no males or females. In one of the issues it's explained that gender never existed until they started exploring other worlds and discovered sex and gender from organic species. Then, some Cybertronians wanted to be more masculine so changed how they looked and acted, while others choice to be more feminine. And then you have Arcee who was an attempt to ring sex into the Cybertronian species. While everyone else basically changed genders/looks, Arcee was an attempt to change the very spark and brain to create sex. Since, biologically, the female and male bodies have differences other than just genitalia. But, that dives into gender studies, chromosomes, and a WHOLE LOT of biology talk that I could go on for a while about."

My life has become over analyzing the dating complexities of gay robots... I don't want saving from this either.
