Cybertronian Reproduction Analyze (Canon)

***Originally posted in 2017***

Time to go all nerd/over thinking robot stuff. Brace yourselves. This gets deep and might mind fuck you. Robots butts below!

Cybertronians do not have the means of biological reproduction. Their sparks appear from hot spots, which are places on Cybertron, Cybertron's moons, or on Titans that naturally create a spark. When a spark is created it comes with a special metal that can change shape. This metal manages to grow and forms a protoform. The protoform then alters itself and becomes the frametype (body) of the spark according to the coding of the spark. Basically, genetics. The coding of the spark tells the protoform to become a ship, a jet, a truck, a bird, whatever, and even the "gender" of the individual.

Before the Great War, hot spots were disappearing as Cybertron was being polluted, losing energy, etc. The Senate used The Matrix to create sparks. They were more or less clones of existing sparks. These new sparks were then placed in already made bodies. These Matrix created sparks put into already made bodies (that do not fit to the coding of their sparks) are referred to as Constructed Cold sparks. Starscream is one, so is Ravage, and many others.

No, in Drift: Empire of Stone, a Decepticon mentioned that Cybertronians cannot reproduce. He specifically said these words, "We do not reproduce!" Confirming that they do indeed have no means of biological reproduction. They can only procreate via using The Matrix, or waiting for a natural spark to emerge from a hot spot.

Now, this is where things start to get confusing. Cybertronians are not just the transforming individuals like Optimus, Starscream, Rodimus, etc. There is an entire fauna on Cybertron of various other Cybertronian species. These "animals" also possess sparks. We can confirm they have sparks from mentions of them having sparks throughout comics and cartoons. Furthermore, Ravage, a cybercat, was confirmed being Constructed Cold when Tyrest tried to destroy all the Constructed Cold Cybertronians and Soundwave was seen holding a dying Ravage, begging for someone to help save him. During the first issue of More Than Meets the Eye, the sparkeater was being fed turbofoxes, confirming they have sparks to which the sparkeater was feasting on. Soundwave's birds, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw, both have been confirmed of having sparks.

So, clearly they have the same makeup as the "advanced" Cybertronians. All have sparks, all are made of the same kind of metal, all transform, all live on energon, all possess the same "organs" (T-cog, fuel pumps, fuel tank, brain module, etc.).

Now, the confusing part is no one seems to be "born" as a fauna. Or, it is at least never mentioned. But what REALLY is confusing is in More Than Meets the Eye, Ratchet makes a comment about turbofoxes being in heat. And his mention of it was very clearly about sexual behavior. If turbofoxes go through heat, that means they have biological reproduction. IF they have biological reproduction and still are pretty identical to other Cybertronians, then why don't other Cybertronians go through heat?

To bring up the attached image... Getaway says that scraplets reproduce. Scraplets do have a spark signature, as seen in the Holiday Special for the IDW comics when some of the Lost Light crew were tricked into believing a colony of scraplets was a still developing protoform (baby Cybertronian). So if scraplets have babies and sparks... and clearly are Cybertronians.... Then they clearly sexually reproduce, or possibly asexually reproduce. Either way, they are biologically reproducing in some form.

Throughout comics and cartoons, it is strongly hinted and offhandedly remarked that Cybertronians do have sexual interactions with each other. What "equipment" they have to do this with has never been confirmed, but on the Dreamwave comics it was made clear they get their version of an STD. There are many remarks regarding pleasuring each other and getting into each others bodies. So, something very physical happens.

All this to say.... If turbofoxes are having intercourse, scraplets are procreating, and other Cybertronian fauna are making more of each other without hot spots... Then why are the "primary" Cybertronians incapable of reproducing as they do? Why must they use only hot spots or The Matrix?

Long story short.... I have no life, I look too closely into robot sex and the science behind it, and you don't want to know what else goes through my overthinking, over analyzing, knows-too-much-about-biology, shit head.

I won't even go into how it could be scientifically plausible for a robotic species to procreate. I have figured a theory out, but... I'm not going into that here. Not this day, at least.
